Can pressed tin be used in bathrooms?
The short answer is YES, you can use pressed metal in a bathroom however, we do not recommend using it in the shower alcove as it can be high maintenance to keep it waterproofed.
Can pressed tin go over tiles?
Yes, Australian Pressed Metal use premium 0 grade aluminum which is, hygienic and food safe, perfect for splash backs. Can you go over tiles? Yes, you can as long as the tiles are squeaky clean so that the glue will stick.

Is pressed tin heat resistant?
Pressed metal is suitable for internal and external use. Pressed metal is heat resistant and therefore suitable for use behind stove tops and combustion heaters and BBQ’s when a fire resistant substrate is used in conjuction with a non flammable adhesive.
How do you attach a pressed tin?

- STEP 4: ATTACH THE PANELS TO THE WALL.
- STEP 5: SILICONE : Where the sheets overlap and between bench top and base of the pressed metal splashback.
How do you cut pressed tin?
For premium results Pressed Tin Panels® aluminium, galvanised or copper panels are best cut with an industrial guillotine and/or notching machine. Please contact us to ask about our cutting services. Powder coated panels can also be cut, for this we recommend lubricating your cutting disc with bee or candle wax.
Can you use pressed metal as a splashback?
Pressed metal make a great option for a kitchen splashback. The panels are large – 1830mm long and either 610 or 915mm high.
Is it backsplash or splashback?
The Oxford English dictionary says a ‘backsplash’ is: “A panel behind a sink or cooker that protects the wall from splashes; a splashback.” It seems that backsplash is the popular term in the US, while in Britain we prefer the term splashback.
Is pressed tin easy to clean?
The pressed metal is easy to clean when left in the raw finish by simply wiping over with warm soapy water using a soft cloth or sponge (no scourers) and drying with a soft microfiber cloth. Do not use any scourer or abrasive cleaners as these will scratch the aluminium.
How do you paint pressed metal?
YES you can paint pressed metal/pressed tin. For the best results it should be undercoated with a suitable primer such as metal etch available from any good hardware store then painted any colour desired using water or oil based enamel in the chosen finish such as gloss, matt or satin.
