Is the V8 R8 better than the V10?
The V8 is more of a driver’s car because it’s lighter (1585kg vs 1720kg) and more fluid, but the V10 just makes you feel more special. For that reason, I’d take the one with the big bark; the noise and the acceleration were like nothing like I’ve ever felt and I’m already in need of an R8 V10 fix.
How many Audi R8 were produced?
Unlike the earlier 2010 prototype based on the first-generation R8, it actually entered production, but only on a small scale, with less than 100 units sold.
Is the Audi R8 worth it?
Yes. It’s worth it. One of the best bangs for your buck. I just bought a Sprintbooster for my Gen1 V8. At first, it felt like it “woke up” the car which was refreshing. It even allowed me to achieve more synchronous and smoother shifts.
Why is the Audi R8 so special?
Two of the reasons why the first-gen Audi R8 feels so special are its engine; a 4.2 liter naturally-aspirated V8; and its gearbox; a six-speed, open-gate manual. Combine those two and you instantly get something that feels special, feels exciting each and every time you drive it. Even just puttering around town, those two make the R8 an event.
