Can I walk into Lyme Park without booking?
You no longer need to book to visit Lyme. A member of our admissions team will greet you on arrival. Entry to Lyme’s is free for National Trust members, including the garden, park and car park. Please bring your membership cards with you.
What time do the gates open at Lyme Park?

Parking: Lyme Park Country Park (free for National Trust members). Free parking available at Disley station (follow signs up steps opposite station building and walk uphill to join the walk at point 2. Distance: 4 miles.

The Legh’s had a family tradition of naming the male heir Peter, or Piers. So each successive head of the house gained a Roman numeral after his name. It fell to Peter X to create the Lyme Park we see today, transforming the earlier Tudor house into a neo-classical stately home in the Italian style.
