What do the Supertrees do?
Called Supertrees, they behave as vertical gardens – generating solar power, acting as exhaust air towers for nearby conservatories, and collecting rainwater on this island in Southeast Asia, just south of the Malay Peninsula.
What are Supertrees made of?
SuperTrees are made up of an organic material found in the arctic tundra of Scandinavia, distantly related to North American Sagebrush. Their size and branch structure are perfectly scaled to replicate “full size” trees in either HO or N scale. They are picked, and dried out before being packaged for sale.

Are Supertrees sustainable?
Eleven of the Supertrees are embedded with environmentally sustainable functions. Some have photovoltaic cells on their canopies to harvest solar energy for lighting up the Supertrees, while others are integrated with the Conservatories and serve as air exhaust receptacles.

Supertrees facts: Designed by Grant Associates the Supertrees are vertical gardens ranging from 25 to 50 metres in height (equivalent to 9 to 16 storeys) housing tropical flowering climbers, epiphytes and ferns.
What time do the Supertrees light up?
Gardens by the Bay light show or the Garden Rhapsody takes place at the Supertree Grove, daily, at 7:45 PM and 8:45 PM. The Supertree Grove is made up of massive tree-like structures complete with 12 technologically advanced iconic trees. Here are the top three spots for you to enjoy the light show.
