How do I know if my jet ski oil injection is working?
Shut off the fuel line, remove the spark plugs, hold the throttle (or the lever of the oil pump) wide open, and crank the engine. (The absence of spark plugs allows the engine to run much faster.) Check the intake manifolds; if the oil pump works, engine oil should be dripping from the inlets.
How does Seadoo oil injection work?
On a 2-stroke oil-injected jet ski, when you pull the throttle lever, you simultaneously pull the throttle cable and the oil pump cable. The more throttle you apply, the more oil the pump delivers to the engine. It’s as simple as that!
How do you bypass oil shots on a jet ski?

How do I know if my oil injection is working?
If the oiling side of the pump failed, all cylinders would be destroyed. Also there is a pressure alarm on the oil side that if it loses pressure, the buzzer will sound. The only way to check the OMC system is to mark the level on the tank and see if it moves. Also if it is smoking, its oiling.
What does oil injected mean?
With an oil injection system, the oil is automatically metered in with the gas. Not only do you not have to worry about the correct mixture, but you also don’t have to mix the gas and oil you simply put each in its own tank and allow the system to do its job.
Does a 2-stroke jet ski have engine oil?
Keep in mind that unlike 4-stroke power sources, 2-stroke jet ski engines are lubricated with a mixture made of 2-stroke oil and gas. This means that the oil is mixed with the gas before it enters the engine.
How do you premix gas for a jet ski?
To put it simply, you have to add 1 gallon of oil to 50 gallons of gas. As you probably want to mix a smaller amount of gas, you have to add 2.6 ounces of oil to one gallon of gas and 12.8 ounces of oil to 5 gallons of gas.
How do you bleed an oil injection system?
To bleed air from the inlet side, loosen the bleeder screw until oil flows freely, with no air bubbles. Then tighten the screw. After the inlet line is bled, start the engine and run it at 1,500 to 2,000 rpm. Hold the Pump control lever in the full open position by hand, until all the air is bled from the outlet tubes.
Is the seadoo oil injection system reliable?
Seadoo oil injection systems when properly maintained are very reliable. I would never premix , just my opinion 4) You can still loose an engine, if you don’t properly mix your fuel. 6) On a family use ski… it’s a hassle to mix. Especially if you have a large fuel tank. Here’s the deal. Some of the oil system kind of suck, and are known to fail.
Do seadoo oil pumps ever fail?
But on a seadoo… the PUMP never fails. Most of the time, on a seadoo… when someone says that they lost an engine because of the oil system… they either: 1) Really had enough oil, and the engine parts were damaged from water sitting in the engine.

Should I be worried about an oil bypass kit?
I would be more worried about the rv valve seal or case leaking the oil and going dry and you smoking the lower end because there is no more oil supply with your bypass kit. Much more likely that this will happen vs the cable snapping or pump failing.
