What is e-QIP background check?
e-QIP is a web-based automated system that was designed to facilitate the processing of standard investigative forms used by DCSA and other Investigation Service Providers (ISP) when conducting background investigations for Federal security, suitability, fitness and credentialing purposes.
How long does it take to review e-QIP?
In general, expect a CONFIDENTIAL or SECRET clearance to take between 1 and 3 months. A TOP SECRET will probably take between 4 and 8 months. However, some individuals have been waiting for the results of their TOP SECRET investigation for more than one year.
Can I check the status of my e-QIP?
To check the status of your e-QIP application, please check with the office that initiated you into the system. If the agency has submitted an investigation request on you, you can check the status of your case by calling 724-794-5612, extension 7000.
How long does e-QIP take after submitting?
One person gets contacted just a few weeks after their eQIP is submitted (that is, accepted by the system and released by the person who submitted you for a clearance; the next person waits three months or more to see any movement at all.
Do security clearances check Internet history?
Although security clearance background checks can be intensely thorough, the government can’t view your emails, Internet browsing history, hard drive data, and other virtual assets without a subpoena or warrant.
Can you access e-QIP after submission?
If you are currently in contact with your agency’s Human Resources (HR) or Security Office (SO) and need access to your previously filled-out e-QIP/Standard Form (SF), you may request that access via your agency’s HR or SO.
