Can you cut poster board with a Silhouette?
Once you know your settings work for your particular poster board, you can write it down or create a custom cut setting so it’s always available in Silhouette Studio®. Future test cuts with that particular poster board may not be necessary.
What setting do you cut poster board?
Tip: For an optimal cutting experience, we recommend using the Cricut® Deep Cut Blade when cutting thicker materials such as heavy fabric, poster board, chipboard, magnet board, and leather. The Deep Cut Blade can cut most materials up to 2mm in thickness using the multi-cut feature.
Can a silhouette cameo cut cardboard?
Cardboard Box Giant fail…the material is too thick for the Silhouette CAMEO. I have a hunch, that while the CURIO could handle the thickness of the material, it will still be too thick for the deep cut blade.

Cardstock is my favorite thing to cut with the Silhouette Cameo….To cut regular cardstock on your Silhouette, use these cut settings:
- Blade: 4.
- Speed: 4-8 (use a slower speed for designs with lots of details, but a higher speed is great for designs with lots of straight lines)
- Force: 24.
- Passes: 1.

- OVERCUT: I like using this because it helps you get cleaner cuts. Start at 0.1mm for crisp corners.
