What does AP mean in League of Legends?

Ability power (AP) is a stat that increases the effectiveness of some abilities, items, and runes. Effects that scale with ability power receive a bonus proportional to its value.
What does AD and AP mean?
APC = Ability Power Carry, meaning a champion that doesn’t have much base health but deals lots of magic damage through spells/abilities. AD = Attack damage, meaning basic damage done by auto attacks and abilities, as well as some items.
Is Ad better than AP?
Auto attacks and abilities that deal physical damage can be mitigated with armor. Abilities that deal magic damage can be mitigated with magic resist. The tendency is that abilities that scale from AD usually deal physical damage and abilities that scale from AP usually deal magic damage.
Is Teemo better as an ad or AP?

What is the difference between playing AD and AP?
Is it fair to say that the difference between playing AD (e.g. Jinx) and AP, is the fact that as AD you will inflict your hurt mainly via auto-attacks (i.e. right-clicking) and as AP via your spells Q, W, E & R? Is hybrid Teemo better than Mallet?
Hybrid teemo is more usefull, in my opinion because he can do sustained damage throughout the fight, and if you build mallet you can be really tanky and kite easily. Show activity on this post. This is a matter of opinion but that is the intention of the question in the first place. I like attack speed on-hit teemo.
How do you tell if an abiltity is based off AD or AP?
If you mouse over a specific abiltity it usually says “Deals 80 (+10) Physical (or Magic) damage” or whatever, then the color of the number within the paranthesis signifies whether it is based off AD or AP (Green = AP, Orange = AD).
