Do you need a boat cover when trailering?
If you plan on going for a longer distance while towing, and certainly if getting up to highway speed, then a cover is much more of a necessity. Now, without a cover, heavier items such as seat covers and the like can and will be blown out and onto the highway.

As long as you have a tight fitting cover you wont have any problems. Its safer when you stop too cause you dont have to worry about people grabbing things they shouldnt. Also keeps alot of unwanted dirt and debris out of the boat along with damage from flying rocks. If your cover does not fit tight, forget it.

Not so much the road grime. Yes boats are made to get wet, but not necessarily for being behind a semi tractor, in a downpour for two+ days of towing. Take the carpet out, stow it in the shipper’s truck, or bring it home with you. Put covers on the boat, tape it securely, and you will be fine.
