How do I upgrade brushed to brushless?
In order to change over from brushed to brushless, you must first purchase a new brushless motor. It is not possible to convert the motor itself from one type to the other. In addition, the brushless motors take a different type of electronic speed controller (ESC), so that must also be replaced.
Can you use a brushed motor with a brushless ESC?
You cannot use a brushless ESC with a brushed motor. Brushed motors need brushed ESC and brushless motors need brushless ESC. The brushless ESC’s outputs are 3 phase AC current whereas brushed motors run on DC current.
How can I make my brushed motor faster?
Sealed endbell motors need a lot of running to break in their hard compound brushes. Running it partially submerged in water helps break them in faster. Water dipping is a trick old-school guys used to break in their motors, but it would also help clean your brushed motors.
Can you use a LiPo battery on a brushed motor?
If it is a stock motor then a LiPo pack could be used but it would need to be a 2-cell 7.4 volt pack. If a 3-cell pack 11.1 volt pack is used it will quickly burn out the motor. The 2-cell LiPo pack will have a higher voltage than the stock NiMh pack and it will shorten the life of the motor over time.
How do you make a brushed motor stronger?

Do you have to break in a brushed motor?
Water is abrasive and accelerates the wear of the brushes and the comm surface, essentially taking life away from your new motor very quickly. Our motors don’t really require a break-in before use, but you can run them on low voltage (4-6V) for a minute or two both directions to seat the brushes.
