How do you use DSG manually?
In some cars, the manual mode is controlled by moving the automatic gear stick back and forth. Typically this works by sliding the gearstick to the left or right and then pushing it forward or backwards to tell the onboard computers you wish to change up or down a gear.
How do you drive DSG in sport mode?

What does sport mode on DSG do?
Sport mode changes down earlier and up later so on a hill, moving to sport will usually change down and hold that gear for longer so the engine doesn’t labour too much. If you leave the box in Drive changing down is much later and the engine can sound laboured before it finally changes gear.
What does S mean in DSG?

Why do you like the GTI DSG?
I also like the GTI DSG as it shifted very quick and you could drive much like a manual. The GTI auto is much better than other models with paddle shifting. manauls are good for a performance car you drive once in a while, weekends. Ready to race!
Is the 2015 Mk7 GTI DSG or manual?
My 2015 Mk7 GTI is DSG. I like the control and interaction of manual transmissions. Good as it is, DSG doesn’t have the consistent response of a pure manual. That said I like DSG better overall. Do you prefer the DSG or manual?
DSG for the win; manuals are far more effort than they’re really worth; yes, you do have more control with a manual by definition, but 99% of the time the DSG will do a better job, or at the very least save you the effort. Especially, combined with the ACC having the DSG just makes a whole heap more sense than the manual.
