Is Hamersley gorge worth it?
Visited the Gorge while visiting friends in Karatha – quite a drive over some reasonably rough roads. The actual drive in to the gorge is only short with limited parking at the bottom. The walk / climb in and out is a little challenging but well worth it.
Are there crocodiles at Karijini?
Being so far inland, and far enough south, you won’t see a single crocodile at Karijini. No fresh water ones, and most importantly, no saltwater crocs. The only risk of swimming here is the temperature of some of the water.

The only facility is a no-flush pit toilet and the maximum stay is two nights. The capacity of the overflow is limited and, as for Dales, booking is essential. We cannot guarantee there will be an available space in the overflow area if you arrive without a booking.

Weano Gorge, Handrail Pool & Oxer Lookout Weano Gorge is perhaps the most accessible gorge in Karijini. But this makes it no less spectacular and beautiful. Around the top of the gorge there are relatively easy walks accessible from the picnic area. For the less adventurous, the Upper Weano Gorge Trail is Class 4.
