How many types of JEXT are there?
Jext® comes in two different types. 300 micrograms for big people (who weigh more than 30kg), and 150 micrograms for little people (who weigh between 15 – 30 kg).

How long do you administer JEXT for?
Step 4: Push the black tip firmly into your outer thigh until you hear a ‘click’ confirming the injection has started, then keep it pushed in. Hold the injector firmly in place against the thigh for 10 seconds (a slow count to 10) then remove.
Can you use an out of date JEXT pen?
This extended use of 4 months beyond the labelled expiry date for the specific lots is based on supportive stability data for Jext® auto-injectors and has been reviewed by the MHRA. The Jext® auto-injectors of these specific lots will continue to work safely and as intended within the allowed extended use by date.
What is a JEXT pen?
Jext is a single-use pre-filled pen designed for easy use. The pre-filled pen is operated by simply pressing the black injector tip against the outer thigh. This will activate a plunger, which pushes a concealed needle through the membrane on the black injector tip into the muscle and injects a dose of adrenaline.

When you push Jext® firmly against your thigh, a spring activated plunger will be released, which pushes the hidden needle through the seal at the end of the black needle shield, into the thigh muscle and injects a dose of adrenaline.

How do I dispose of an out-of-date Jext® which has not been used? You should contact your GP surgery or your Local Authority who will be able to advise you of the local arrangements for disposal of an out of date Jext®.
Can an expired EpiPen hurt you?
The manufacturers of EpiPen caution not to use the pen beyond the expiration date, and if the drug solution becomes discolored (oxidation).
How many times can you use one EpiPen?
You may repeat the injection every 5 to 10 minutes as needed. However, the dose is usually not more than 0.3 mg per injection.
