Should you tape foam board seams?
The Building America Solution Center has the following builder guidelines for taping rigid foam: When rigid foam is used as the weather-resistive barrier and/or the air barrier, tape all seams using manufacturer-recommended tape per the manufacturer’s instructions.
Can you caulk foam board?
The main thing you’ve got to make sure is the caulking is NOT petroleum based. It’ll melt the foam board. Pl 300 foam board adhesive is what I use. This stuff sticks like crazy and can be found at any regular hardware store and comes in the same container as caulking does.

Absolutely no problem. I gave up bolting in servos about the time I went 100% electric – about 8 years ago. I have used silicone to put servos, batteries, receivers, ESC’s, motors in balsa, fibreglass, polypropylene, styrofoam and Depron fuselages.
Can you use duct tape on foam board?
Any tape that sticks well and is strong should work fine in that application. Cheap duct tapes just don’t have the quality adhesive to stick for very long.

For applications between the foam and the layout fascia, use a latex calk. Yes a good idea in case you ever need to remove a piece of fascia. The paintable caulk can be easily cut, avoiding damage to adjacent scenery.

What is seaming tape?
Seam tape is a layer of tape made of polyurethane film that is placed by the manufacturer under the seams to block water from entering the seams. Seam tape has a more difficult time adhering to thinner fabric tents, and can breakdown or flake off over time, particularly with exposure to moisture, heat and humidity.
