What does CMSP cover?
The CMSP Benefit includes coverage for emergency services and preventative care, including: Acute inpatient hospital care. Ambulance services. Primary care, specialist office visits and minor procedures.
What is advanced motorcycling?
Advanced motorcycle training will enable you to be a more skilful and responsible rider. As an advanced rider, you will be able to anticipate and control situations to reduce your accident risk, and increase your knowledge and skill to ride safely and effectively in all conditions.
What are the different riding levels?

- Beginner. A rider with little or no experience lacking proficiency in basic groundwork skills such as catching, leading, grooming or tacking a horse.

What is a DL 389?
The California Motorcyclist Safety Program (CMSP), administered by the CHP, is the official state-approved training course for bike riders. After completing the course, you will receive a Certificate of Completion of Motorcycle Training (Form DL 389), which you can use to earn a test waiver.
Do you need a motorcycle license to buy a motorcycle in California?
Banks usually don’t require that a person prove they have a motorcycle license to purchase one, but they will require that you have a driver’s license. Additionally, you will need to be at least 18 years old to get a loan at all.
What are the prerequisites for the Advanced Rider Course?
Advanced RiderCourse Prerequisites: A valid motorcycle permit, license, or endorsement. Riders must provide their own street-legal and safe motorcycle. A one-day course for riders with basic skills, this class provides more in-depth riding techniques and procedures than practiced in the BRC.

The Experienced RiderCourse also covers protective gear, rider responsibility, motorcycle inspection and care, the effects of alcohol and other drugs on riding, and includes an optional skill evaluation and knowledge test.
