What is AT Next® and AT Next Every Year. SM. Close. AT Next and AT Next Every Year offer well-qualified buyers the choice to purchase a smartphone for $0 down, dividing the sales price of the smartphone into low monthly installment payments.
How does the next plan work?
So the way the AT Next program works is that customers will make monthly payments equivalent to 1/20 of their device’s full retail price for 12 months, and then they get to trade it in for a new device. They don’t get to keep it unless they make 20 payments.
Do I have to pay off my phone before upgrading?
You can upgrade a device if your account is not past due and you bought the device you want to replace: At retail price – you can upgrade to a new device any time. With a device payment agreement – you can upgrade when any of these applies: You paid off your device payment agreement.
How do I know if I have AT next?
You can check upgrade eligibility or remaining device balance by signing in to myAT or the myAT App. Once you sign in, you will see the upgrade options for each line on the account. You can then check the box Upgrade this device > Upgrade.
Should I upgrade my phone every year?
But in order to get good money for the device, it needs to be the latest model. If you like this model, and keep your recent phone in decent shape, you should be able to swap it out every 12 months and get 50% of its original value.

Is AT next financing right for You?
While AT Next and AT Next Every Year are OK financing plans, you are, overall, better off to save your money and purchase a refurbished phone. Plenty of phones are available in the used phone industry, and many of them are none too different from the current generation of phones.
