To apply, visit TNPromise.gov! Students apply for TN Promise through the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation (TSAC) Student Portal. This portal is where you can access updated and personalized information about your application for state financial aid.
Can you get TN Promise back?
TNPromise Appeals Students enrolled at Southwest wishing to appeal the loss of Tennessee Promise eligibility must complete the Appeal to Reinstate Tennessee Form. Along with the form, provide a detailed letter explaining the request for an appeal, and provide supporting documentation to the Financial Aid Office.
How long does TN Promise last after graduation?
Students can receive TN Promise for up to 5 semesters or up until they graduate with an associate’s degree, whichever occurs first.

In general, you must maintain enrollment in an undergraduate course of study at a nonforeign school to receive a Federal Pell Grant. Additionally, you will have to fill out the FAFSA form every year you’re in school in order to stay eligible for federal student aid.

While the Tennessee Promise is available to all students regardless of socioeconomic status, partnering organizations will work with high school guidance counselors to target at-risk students who would otherwise not pursue any education beyond high school.

The Tennessee Promise (or Tennessee Promise Scholarship) is structured differently, to cover 100% of tuition towards your Associate Degree or technical certification at a community college, tech school, or approved private or public college that has an associate program.
What is the difference between TN Promise and TN hope?
The Tennessee Promise Scholarship covers the full tuition for an associate’s degree at certain eligible schools including community colleges, colleges of applied technology, and select private or public universities. The Tennessee Hope Scholarship is what you would think of as a typical scholarship.
Do you have to apply for TN Promise every year?
