Can Aquapanel be skimmed?
Press AQUAPANEL® Reinforcing Mesh over the whole area with approx. 10 cm joint overlaps and then skim over thinly. To achieve a felted surface suitable for wallpapering or painting, skim over the first coat after hardening with a further 2 – 3 mm thick coat of AQUAPANEL® Joint Filler & Skim Coating – white.
Can I tile straight onto Aquapanel?
AQUAPANEL® Cement Board Indoor is appropriate for tiling but if the tile size is bigger we recommend using an additional decoupling system (e.g. Mapei, PCI or Schlьter). Note: Where single-layer panels are required in tiling applications, AQUAPANEL® Cement Board Indoor is the best tile backing board!
What is Knauf Aquapanel?
Knauf AQUAPANEL® Cement Board Indoor is a tough impact and water resistant glass fibre reinforced cement tile backer board for walls. It is a lightweight board that is easy to install and suitable for use in indoor wet and humid areas, resisting the development of mould and mildew.
How do you cut a Knauf Aquaboard?
Knauf Aquapanel Interior is easily and accurately cut using a coarse bladed saw, or by simply scoring and snapping. Score one side with a sharp knife, cutting through the mesh. Snap the board along the score, then cut through mesh on other side. Smooth any rough areas caused by scoring with a rasp.
What is Knauf plaster?
Knauf Easy Plaster is a ready-mixed lightweight patching plaster specially designed for small to large repairs to cracks in walls and ceilings. It will not shrink or crack and is ideal for filling holes up to 40mm deep with a two coat application. The plaster can be painted or prepared once dry.
Do you plaster over Aquapanel?

Which side of Knauf Aquapanel do you tile?

Tile on the smooth side of the board. Permanently flexible sealant should be used at corners, at wall to floor connections, around penetrations, and at interfaces with baths and shower trays, in combination with sealing tape in wet areas.
Does Aquapanel need priming before tiling?
Priming with this product is needed when applying heavier tiles between 51 and 120kg as per a complete Knauf system specification. When applying a Knauf Interior Skim Finish, this is an optional, belt-and-braces choice, but is not necessary.
Will Knauf Aquapanel ® joint filler and skim coat be smooth?
Knauf AQUAPANEL ® Joint Filler and Skim Coat – White is a cement-based product, so will not offer a completely smooth finish. It is not recommended that the product be over-worked to try to achieve a smooth finish as it will bring grits to the surface.
How do I install the Knauf Aquapanel® cement board indoor?
After the Knauf AQUAPANEL ® Cement Board Indoor or AQUAPANEL ® Cement Board SkyLite boards have been installed with a 3 to 5mm gap between all boards, the product is pushed into the gaps out over the surface of the board to the width of the Knauf AQUAPANEL ® Tape. Embed the Knauf AQUAPANEL ® Tape and remove any excess material.
