Can boys and girls room together at Ball State?
Gender-inclusive rooms are scattered throughout several of our residence halls. Depending on availability, possible halls could include Kinghorn, Park, DeHority, Botsford/Swinford, Schmidt/Wilson, North, and North West.

Does Ball State require you to live on campus?
The policy states that all students are required to live in university housing (dormitory) unless you are one of the following exceptions: 21 years of age before beginning your first term. Have 24 or more accepted credits at Ball State after graduating from high school. Married.

If you want or need a roommate, you can select a specific person (if you have a friend going to the same school) or the college can choose one for you. To match you with a roommate, colleges use a housing questionnaire. They ask you personal questions about your lifestyle and living habits.
Can freshman have cars at Ball State?
Residents are limited to one car per licensed driver and two cars total per apartment. A Ball State permit must be purchased for each vehicle in order to receive an apartment permit.
Does Ball State allow pets in dorms?
There will be no breeding of animals permitted. Any approved pet(s) must be maintained in accordance with applicable state and local laws. Only common household pets considered to be companion animals and fish tanks of 20 gallons or less will be allowed.

A community of University Apartments, Scheidler Apartments is one of two apartment complexes maintained by Ball State. The apartments accommodate upper-level single students, students with families, and Ball State faculty and staff.

Bridgewater State University prohibits the possession, consumption, storage, or service of alcohol by students except at the Great Hill Student Apartments by apartment residents and their guests who are 21 years of age or older, or at approved or licensed locations.
