Nova Scotians will no longer need a permit to burn brush on their property. Similar to the system in New Brunswick, the province introduced new regulations Wednesday that will guide residents online to a colour-coded burn map.

Application can be made at the nearest Local or Area Office of the N.S. Department of Natural Resources. An inspection of site will be required before approval is given. Permission to burn will be the same as before: Call in before burning to see if permission is allowed.
