What is a PINsentry card?
What’s a PINsentry? It’s a small handheld device that generates a unique eight-digit code to help confirm it’s you when making payments or servicing your account online. Simply insert your card and tap in your PIN to use it. Entering this code gives you an extra level of security and protection.
How do you get PINsentry?
To get started, visit Online Banking – then select ‘Order PINsentry card reader’ or ‘Upgrade to PINsentry’, under ‘Order’ in the ‘Service centre’ menu. Can I log into Barclays without PINsentry?
You can also access Online Banking without PINsentry by setting up a memorable word and passcode to log in with and: See your balances. Transfer money between your Barclays accounts.
Can I do a bank transfer without a card reader?

Can I use someone else Barclays PINsentry?
Yes, you should be able to use someone else’s card reader, even if it’s from another bank, but you can only use your own bank card and PIN. For your own security, you should only use a card reader from a trusted source and make sure that the label on the back is intact.

What is mobile PINsentry and how does it work?
Instead of using your PIN to verify your identity, Mobile PINsentry uses your unique app passcode. Mobile PINsentry is automatically included in the app, so there’s no need to register separately. It will be activated approximately 10 days after you download it. Download the Barclays app.
