What should I wear to NSLC?
For the majority of the conference, students will wear business casual or casual a re. For a few events each session, such as guest speakers or facility visits, students will be required to wear professional a re (coat and e for males, suit/slacks and blouse or dress for females).
Does NSLC give scholarships?
The maximum scholarship award will not exceed the cost of tuition less the deposit; however, the vast majority of scholarships awarded will be $350-750. To be considered for a scholarship, a student must be enrolled in the NSLC and have submitted a tuition deposit.
Why did I get a letter from the NSLC?
Most people probably are so excited when they receive this flattering letter that they want to believe everything it says. That’s what NSLC and its counterparts want: people thinking they’ve received an invitation for a fabulous honor. It’s really an invitation for the honor of paying them money.

How are students selected to participate in the NSLC?
There are several ways in which students are selected to participate in the NSLC. Teachers, counselors, and NSLC alumni nominate outstanding high school students from across the United States and around the world.
What happens at the NSLC each day?
At the NSLC each day is different and varies by specific conference, but each conference does include several components each day. Please take a look at the sample schedules for each program to see more specific examples of daily activities.
What grade do you have to be to attend the NSLC?
Students must currently be enrolled in 6th-12th grade. Students may attend the NSLC through the summer following their high school graduation. A completed Grade Verification Form is required for students who did not receive an invitation.
Is there an application deadline for the NSLC?
While your invitation included a recommended application deadline, the NSLC operates on rolling admissions. We continue to evaluate applications as long as space is available. Because many of our sessions fill by late March, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible to ensure your first choice of program and session.
