Are Taylor reels any good?
The Taylor Revolution is a great looking reel (though the colors aren’t as vivid in real life as they are in our photos). It’s fully ported, it’s got a great color scheme. The only thing it’s lacking some some of that made-in-the-USA machining goodness that would have put it over the top.
Where are Taylor reels made?
Taylor Reels is based out of beautiful Albuquerque, New Mexico. The wild Rio Grande and the famous San Juan are our home waters. We spend most of our time fishing waters in Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado.
Is Taylor Fly fishing good?
The craftsmanship was excellent and it performed very well for me, especially at 40 feet, where I was getting beautiful tight loops and very good accuracy. This is a fast action rod. It’s perhaps a little heavy in swing weight, and this as well as its stiffness, hurt its score at 25 feet.
Are Allen Fly rods made in the USA?
Guest. It’s not just the “outsourcing”, but these Reels are knock-offs from an American Manufacture. They are then sold back to U.S. companies with their name stamped. Allen Fly Fishing is not the only one, but they are the most relevant.

What happened to Orvis?
Our retail store footprint will condense to just our Stockbridge location. This will mean we will be closing all other stores throughout the month of March.
