The Xeon E5-1680 V2 is a 22nm Processor while the Core-i7 3930K is a 32nm Processor. I’m not sure if you’ve noticed but the default vCore on the 32nm parts is higher by default and overclocking a 3930K does take more voltage (generally speaking) than overclocking an E5-1680 V2.

All 6c/12t enabled can max push 4550MHz sadly. Lost the lottery. Oh, X79 let’s you unlock Xeon’s multiplier? Or is that chip just unlocked out of the box? 1xxx class xeons on x79 are multiplier unlocked 🙂 What Ottetal said. All 16xx are unlocked. 1650 is 3930K’s big brother, while 1650 v2 is 4930K’s big brother as an example.
