Why are my local channels Pixelating on DirecTV?

How do I fix pixelation on DirecTV?
There are three ways to do this:
- Press MENU then go to Settings, then Reset Options. Choose Restart all Locations.
- Find the red reset button and push it. It’s usually behind a spring-loaded door on the front of your receiver.
- Unplug your receiver (or Genie DVR) for at least 15 seconds then plug it back in.

Why is my directv so glitchy?
The biggest contributor to slow performance on DIRECTV Genie clients is the distance between the client and the DVR. How do I get my DIRECTV back to high resolution?
Adjust your video settings

- Press the down arrow to Change Resolution & Format, then press SELECT to view the different screen formats.
Is DIRECTV 1080p or 1080i?
DirecTV does not use a normal 1080p format, so it’s likely your TV doesn’t support it. They use 1080p@24fps while the standard is 1080p@30fps or 60fps. At any rate, it doesn’t really matter. All HD channels (except the 3 4K channels) use 1080i or 720p, which are the HDTV broadcast standards.
