What is a Salivette?
The Salivette® uses an optimal method for obtaining full saliva samples. Saliva is easily obtained by chewing on a roll-shaped saliva collector in order to stimulate salivation. Both the cotton swab “SAR-511534” and the synthetic swab “SAR-511534500” versions can be used to collect samples.
How do you use Salivette?
To use the Salivette: – Pour swab directly into the mouth by tipping the tube so the swab falls into the mouth. – Do NOT touch the swab with your fingers. – Keep the swab in your mouth for approximately one minute. – Roll the swab in your mouth.
How do you test for cortisol in saliva?
Saliva for cortisol testing is usually collected by inserting a swab into the mouth and waiting a few minutes while the swab becomes saturated with saliva. Obtaining more than one sample allows the health practitioner to evaluate the daily pattern of cortisol secretion (the diurnal variation).
Can you brush teeth before saliva test?
